About this trip

Join Father Zachary Navit and Fulvio Bracciali with Cloverdale Travel on a spiritually enriching pilgrimage through Spain and France, featuring the architectural wonder of Barcelona's Sagrada Família and the sacred sanctuary of Our Lady of Lourdes. This unforgettable journey follows the route: Barcelona (2 nights) – Zaragoza (1 night) – Lourdes (2 nights) – Burgos (1 night) – Ávila (2 nights) – Madrid (3 nights) and spans 13 days / 11 hotel nights.

Blending faith, fellowship, sacred history, and cultural discovery, this pilgrimage invites you to walk in the footsteps of some of the Church's most beloved saints while experiencing the beauty, traditions, and hospitality of Spain and France. Daily opportunities for Mass, prayer, and reflection are woven throughout the journey, creating a meaningful experience for pilgrims seeking spiritual renewal and deeper connection to their faith.

Barcelona – 2 Nights

Your pilgrimage begins in the vibrant city of Barcelona, where art, architecture, and Catholic heritage come together in spectacular fashion. Here you will celebrate Mass at La Sagrada Família, Antoni Gaudí's breathtaking masterpiece and one of the most extraordinary churches in the world. You will also visit the beautiful Basilica of Santa Maria del Mar, a treasured symbol of Barcelona's spiritual and cultural history.

An excursion to Montserrat Abbey offers the opportunity to venerate the revered Black Madonna and celebrate Mass in one of Spain's most important pilgrimage sites. Throughout your stay, enjoy the charm of Barcelona's historic neighborhoods, distinctive Catalan culture, and remarkable architecture.

Zaragoza & Lourdes – 3 Nights

Travel through historic Zaragoza, where you will celebrate Mass at the magnificent Basilica of Our Lady of Pilar, one of the oldest Marian shrines in Christianity.

Crossing the Pyrenees into France, you will arrive in Lourdes, one of the world's most beloved pilgrimage destinations. Walk in the footsteps of St. Bernadette, visit the Grotto of Massabielle, pray at the Sanctuary, and experience the profound peace that has drawn millions of pilgrims for more than a century. Opportunities for personal prayer, the Stations of the Cross, the healing waters, and the evening candlelight devotions make Lourdes a truly unforgettable spiritual experience.

Burgos & Ávila – 3 Nights

Continuing through northern Spain, visit Loyola, birthplace of St. Ignatius of Loyola, founder of the Jesuit Order. Explore the magnificent Burgos Cathedral, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the finest examples of Gothic architecture in Europe.

In Ávila, follow the footsteps of St. Teresa of Ávila, Doctor of the Church and one of Catholicism's greatest spiritual writers. Visit the sites associated with her life and vocation while exploring one of Spain's best-preserved medieval walled cities. Cultural experiences include a journey through the renowned Ribera del Duero wine region and an authentic Paella cooking class in Salamanca.

Madrid – 3 Nights

Your pilgrimage concludes in Spain's capital city, Madrid, where faith, history, and culture meet. Celebrate Mass at the impressive Almudena Cathedral, visit historic monasteries connected to Spain's royal and religious heritage, and enjoy time to explore the city's celebrated plazas, museums, and culinary traditions.

A full-day excursion to Toledo, the famous "City of Three Cultures," provides a fitting finale to the journey. Discover magnificent churches, monasteries, and historic landmarks that reflect centuries of Christian, Jewish, and Muslim influence.

Throughout this pilgrimage, you will encounter inspiring sacred sites, celebrate Mass in extraordinary locations, and share fellowship with fellow travelers while experiencing the rich spiritual heritage of Spain and France.

From the soaring towers of La Sagrada Família to the sacred Grotto of Our Lady of Lourdes, this journey offers a beautiful opportunity to deepen your faith while discovering some of Europe's most treasured destinations.
