A beautiful pilgrimage, as well as comfortable accommodations, made this trip such a pleasant experience. The churches and other places of interest we visited, showing the talents of architecture through the ages, was amazing. Being a part of the Feast in Sciacca, as well as visiting the Vatican and going through the Holy Doors, was a deep renewal of our Catholic faith, which I was honored to have experienced. Our guide, Fulvio, was very informative and kept us on track each day. The countryside of Sicily is beautiful and it was nice to see some families reunited while visiting Sciacca. The food and people we met were most gracious. The end of the trip was a little hectic, but we survived and have many great memories. Michael and Kyle did a great job keeping all of us safe and taking care of all the details. Thank you Fr. Navit, Msgr. Marine and Fr. O’Donnell for an enjoyable time.

It was the trip I always wanted to do especially Sciacca. I enjoyed every city we visited. Our tour guides, spiritual leaders, etc. went above and beyond to make our trip unique and special. We had a blast. I would certainly use Cloverdale again for a future adventure. God bless Msgr. Marine, Father's Navit and O"Donnell for your kindness and compassion during our time. I will certainly treasure our memories. Maria Bruno

As far as faith and religion, this was a beautiful pilgrimage, however communication and separation of groups was a lot to be desired and created hardships for many. First problem, was luggage. Our director was Michael from Ringtown, Pa, very hard to reach..we had a situation with our small roll on luggage, we called him and asked if we could bring it as I have medical issues and need supplies, Michael said absolutely no and his words were "too bad", carry it on your back or shoulder, my husband is 78 and I am 75.. we have been on at least 10 of these pilgrimages even to the Holy Land and were always accommodated. Come to find out, we get to Taormina and the White bus from Fr. O'Donalds group had their extra piece of extra roll on luggage, I asked how they could and they said they were not given any restrictions about extra roll ons,, so there is that we struggled with items on our backs and my husband even fell while carrying it. Next was the fish dinners.. again.. we don't have allergies to fish but cannot eat what was served, hoping for options..like pasta. Sat at a few dinners at least three at our table and ate nothing but bread sticks..waiter said no options,,later talked to a woman on the "white" bus who had a roast beef dinner with vegetables, she and others were given an option when I asked, Fluvio and Alessandro, they said it was too late and that they had to know? How would we know, apparently the list was made on the first night..no one spoke to us about it . We had very little communication from Alessandro, he always seemed annoyed. Then the 4 nights in Sciacca... why were there two levels? The white bus was on the top level, they were able to walk straight out to the piazza for church or restaurants and shops, we the green bus on the bottom level had a minimum of 200 steps to the piazza.. We had people with heart conditions, breathing problems, arthritis.. these people could only go the piazza once when the van took us to Mass, we were on our own for another 8 to ten hours. The people in the "white bus" took breaks back to their hotel, we had to either pay for a cab about 3 times a day or not go to dinners or shopping with our fellow travelers because we couldn't climb 200 steps,, 2 out of 4 nights we had take out pizza in the hotel lobby because we couldn't join the others at the top.. Why wasn't this assessed? You had so many able bodied young people who could have handled those steps, why weren't they placed on the bottom? The "white" bus always went to dinner first, seats taken and we had to find seats, taken to churches first and sat up front..why all this separation?I explained to Fluvio and Alessandro that we received a long list, like the commandments of why we must not complain because we are on a pilgrimage..they don't know who sent it, but we tried to abide by it..we were totally exhausted on Friday between carrying items on our back, my husband falling being up 22 hours. I love being with Monsignor but the directors said he wanted us at the bottom which I do not believe, the planning was poor. Therefore, I will never travel with Cloverdale again and if you think I am the only disgruntled person, think again... it was a constant topic of conversation on our bus plus wishing Alessandro would just stop talking and let us rest.. I would hope to hear from you regarding this trip.. Patricia Kowski (FKowski54@aol.com)
By Frederick K for Pilgrimage in Honor of La Madonna del Soccorso di Sciacca on Feb 18, 2025
This trip was the experience of a lifetime. We were able to participate in the festival to Honor La Madonna del Soccorso di Sciacca, identify where our family heritage originated, and walk the streets where our ancestors used to live. This trip was so much more than I ever expected. In addition to visiting Sciacca, we visited many sites in Sicily & Rome. Each day was crafted with a full itinerary, which included tours in every town that we visited, a variety of activities that enveloped us to understand the culture of the population, meals that we celebrated together, and a chance to celebrate mass in a different church each day (one more beautiful than the next). We were fortunate that our trip occurred during a jubilee year. This allowed us to walk through the Holy Doors of several churches, which are only open every 25 years. Our tour guides were knowledgeable and experienced, constantly supplying historical information at every turn. Our group members quickly became friends/family. I cannot wait to book my next pilgrimage through Cloverdale Travel.

St Francis of Assisi 100th Anniversary Pilgrimage to Italy was a wonderful well organized pilgrimage. Five star hotels , great food and Mass celebrations in some of the most beautiful churches in the world . The tours were well thought out, combining leisure time with scheduled tours . I have been on many pilgrimages and this trip ranked at the top.
